A Faster, Cleaner ‘Way of Life’

Carter Machinery can do that. We recently repowered an engine on a 1999 Carman Deadrise 40-foot clam boat named Way of Life. The owner was looking for a quieter, stronger performance than it was getting with its 420bhp marine engine.

We upgraded the Way of Life to a CAT C7.1 500 bhp marine engine, increasing the cruising speed from 12 to 15 knots and maximum speed from 14 to 19 knots.

Not only is the new engine faster, it’s significantly quieter and offers a much better performance going from idle to maximum rpm – with no exhaust smoke!
